Elimination of State Aid to Libraries. Don't let it happen!!!

To the Florida Library Community,

On Wednesday, March 10, 2010, the House and Senate Transportation and Economic Development Committees both adopted preliminary positions eliminating State Aid to Public Libraries.

Most legislators want to fund state aid, and it is up to us to generate enough contacts and pressure to give them the justification to restore it. Both Committees are expected to report out their bills in the next week or so - the Senate has set Friday, March 19th as the date they will report out their bill. This means that the best time for us to act is right now.
