Project Accessible Libraries for All (ALFA)

Applications are now being accepted for Fall 2011 admission to The University of South Florida's School of Information's Library and Information Science master's program for eight full, competitive scholarships available for students interested in focusing their studies in the area of universal access.

The Project ALFA (Accessible Libraries for All) scholarships are made available through an IMLS grant awarded to the University of Alabama's School of Library and Information Studies and the University of South Florida's School of Information to prepare students for working with clients facing physical access barriers. Universal access extends considerations of physical access beyond the ADA definition to include aging populations and persons with mild to moderate or temporary physical disabilities.

In addition to full tuition, ALFA Scholars will receive a laptop computer to support their studies as well as limited funds to travel to grant-related meetings and conferences.
