FLA Virtual Job Shadowing Invitation to Tweet

Would you like to share a typical workday with students and others interested in learning about library careers?

The FLA Library Personnel Recruitment Committee invites you to be "shadowed" at work for a "virtual job shadowing" project using Twitter. All volunteers will be asked to select a day in April to tweet about their workday.


The Virtual Job Shadowing project will run from April 11-22, 2011 (including National Library Week). A schedule will be publicized to follow the job shadowing on Twitter and Facebook. The project is coordinated by the Florida Library Association Library Personnel Recruitment Committee.

This is the second year of the FLA Virtual Job Shadowing project. In February 2010, seven FLA members each Tweeted about their jobs for one day. They represented academic, public, and school libraries and had a variety of positions and job responsibilities. The project produced over 160 individual Tweets that were followed using the hashtag #libjobshadowFL
